Dropjoy Live @ The Office in Northpark, San Diego, California. Song Title: 4 Fairies
Dropjoy is an extremely LIVE band. According to CityBeat Magazine, Nicki sounds like Tracey Chapman channeling Hendrix. Born with congenial heart disease and heart transplant recipient in 2003, Andrew provides a jazz influence. Etienne de Bruin provides that melodic bottom end .On March 3rd, 2009 Andrew Light succumbed to heart transplant complications. Before his demise he chose Rhythm Turner as his successor. On 04-18-09 she accepted and has become a welcome addition to DROPJOY. Posthumously Andrew has become our eternal guardian, vigilant within us is his battle cry: Never give up, Never give in. While we live with the loss, we live by his words.

Sticky floor no more for the once self-proclaimed (and this is one venue that has certainly earned it), “premiere dive bar extraordinaire,” because, like many bars and clubs as of late in San Diego, Scolari’s Office has experienced one serious renovation. To investigate the new remodel, I must admit that I almost drove past the place. From the front door to the bathroom, Scolari’s, to all who have flocked, haunted or visited this memorable relic, is absolutely unrecognizable to the unaccustomed eye. Keeping with the “office” theme of things, the new Scolari’s is cleverly disguised along 30th Street by a single door, labeled “office.” It’s the kind of entrance you would only find at schools, corporate and government buildings, (mail slot actually included). Cozy booths, ornamented by small glowing candles adorn the south wall, and with the black leather bar stools to match.
